ROFL - let me see, that would be 47 miles on my birthday, which is in December!! Can I "pick" a 50 mile ride and call it my birthday ride??
Actually I'm seriously going to try to continue to ride on the weekend even through the winter: I bike commute, I run the dogs so I should be able to ride too right?? (will keep y'all posted)
I'm a dodo: congrats dr! It sounds like you had a great ride and yes ma'am...if you're riding that far and felt great you should be to do your age in miles by your birthday. The best rule of thumb I heard was to increase your miles by 10% each time but it seems most of us don't need no stinking rules - we seem to ride by what feels good.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
