I made these as a dessert while camping at the North Rim. They are in my camping recipe book. We weren't terribly impressed and I used the same chips I use in my chocolate chip cookie - Guittard - so it wasn't the quality of the chocolate. I guess we just didn't like cooked, smooshed banana with chocolate, prefer it with caramel like in Bananas Foster French Toast!Another recipe from my camp cooking book.

Best theme park treat I've ever had on a hot day - frozen banana dipped in chocolate rolled in peanuts. Think it started as fresh banana, dipped in chocolate, then rolled in the 'nuts, all on a stick, and then frozen. So one mega banana sold in the US would get you two servings. Unfortunately, you'd have to heat the kitchen some to melt the chocolate, unless you did that in the microwave.

Disneyland used to sell the ones Beth described.
We have imitated that with the kids at school--
1. Peel bananas
2. Make fat slices
3. Place fat slices on sheet pan
4. Stick a stick in each slice
5. Put in freezer
later
6. Remove from freezer, dip in either melted chocolate or Nutella or Hershey's syrup
7. Eat (if you want--lots of my students do not eat)
We also use a parchment on the baking sheet, and write the kids' names on it next to their slice, because we share enough cooties during the rest of the day.
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
