Bag-aholic needs options for road bike with carbon seat post

I usually ride using a fanny pack with a few necessities (phone, keys, wallet, tools, tube). This usually doesn't bother me, but during humid weather it's uncomfortable to 'wear' anything extra. My hybrid has a seatpost rack and bag-or I sometimes use a handlebar bag fastened backward.

The Aurora has a rear rack and a larger seat bag for short rides or a trunk bag for longer rides.

That leaves my Dolce with no bag solution of its own. Is it ok to use a small saddle bag for a bike that has a carbon seatpost? It would seem that the rails support most of the weight. (Maybe a bag that attaches to the frame would be a better choice?)

A small saddle bag is fine on a carbon fiber seatpost.

You could also look into a back pack that doesn't rest on your back - like the deuter race x air - I use that.

I have a saddle bag on my bike with a carbon seatpost. Never been an issue. Never thought about it possibly being an issue until now.

A saddle bag isn't an issue with a carbon seatpost, you just don't want to mount anything to the post itself that would cause stress - like a post mounted rack. The "post" strap on the saddle bags is really just to keep it from swaying back and forth, the weight of the saddle bag is supported by the saddle rails

Thank you (everyone) for confirming that a seatpost bag is safe to use with the Dolce's carbon post.

It did seem that the weight of the bag would be borne by the rails-not the post itself...but I wanted to be sure my not-too-scientific mind wasn't missing something. (On the other hand, I deduced that a seatpost rack was a no-no, so maybe there's hope for me yet.)
