Think of a loop when you ride a bike, basically a series of things you do over a certain period of time and distance. Some loops are only a few km, some are much longer. In a spin class a loop would be say: a 1 min flat, a 2 min climb, 1 min jumps and a 1 min flat. each time you might want to do it with more resistance.
