    Sad Day. Need extra miles...

I just got a phone call that our sweet English Setter, Maggie died. She had been sick, we thought she was pulling through it. But she's gone. Nine wonderful years. The finest companion, a true endurance athlete, great bird hunter. She loved the kids like her own pups. I'm gonna miss that girlie.

The one in frot is Maggs

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Sweet Agnes and Maud (my beloved goldens) are showing Maggie around Rainbow Bridge...Maggie will have lots of dog/cat/bunny TE friends to keep her company until she can be with you again.

((hugs)) to you both on your losses. They hold our hearts forever, just like our kids. Cherish the memories.

So sorry Bikenurse and Backhillslider on your losses

It's hard to loose your fur babies. I'm still missing Nala who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in March. But know that they're now happy healthy and romping to their heart's delight. They definitely leave paw prints on our hearts.

Awww, I am so sorry about your loss My parents just put their dog (was mine, but they took her for me when she was 1) just died back in January. It saddened me because I couldn't go back to see her.

ugh, this is turning into a good bye thread.

My parents' cat, whom I had a soft spot for, turned a corner for the worse this morning and I had to take him in to be put down. He was sick for a long time with kidney disease, and it finally just got the best of him and he couldn't even stand anymore. I just saw him yesterday and he was ok. I certainly didn't wake up this morning thinking I'll be helping him cross the rainbow bridge.

I've never seen my dad cry, so it was hard to watch that.

thanks for letting me hijack this thread with my sadness

(((((Badger))))) So sorry you had to make the last trip to the vet with your parent's kitty.

My a/c repairman asked - where's your dog? Nala thought everyone came to see her. So she'd follow him around, but would sit out of the way when told. Apparently he'd just lost his dog at 16 years

Our fur babies live long full lives, but short compared to ours. And it hurts when they've gone.
    Beth
