    Honda Fit - bike rack?

    Hi everyone
I am the proud owner of a 2008 new to me Honda Fit "sport"
It is wonderful for toting my bike around toting family around and getting better than average gas mileage (I've only filled the tank once so far and it was a non-impressive 29.9 mph).
My husband has a rather long and tall bike and it does NOT fit easily into my car.. so I need a bike rack for all the times that I have to rescue him or just meet him somewhere and take him home with me.
Someone gave me a never before used Saris Bones rack but it won't work because my car has an itty bitty spoiler. Any of you have FITs with a bike rack?

I have an 08 fit, but not the 'sport' model so it has no spiler and the saris bones rack fits fine. BUT, we have also done the thing where you put both rear seats in the up position, and if you take the front wheels off you can fit 2 bikes back there.

can't fit husband's bike in without pulling the front wheel. It's REALLY a pain -even with that wheel pulled.

I didn't really want the sport model, but there are very few FITS around here for sale which are not.

Yes you can. My husband has a 60 cm bike, and we can get both of ours in there with just the front wheel taken off, although its easier if its just one bike. You'll love the car, its got a ton of cargo room, especially if you are just 2 people most of the time.

Can the spoiler be removed? That would solve the bike rack problem. Otherwise there are other styles of rack I think you could get.

Yes, i can get it in but we have to take off the wheel. he has long fenders AND aero bars.
it's a real pain. Requires a wrench. It's a Rando bike so is longer than usual too. Surely you can see
how it might be nicer to have a rack for easy load and unload.

ps I'm going to look into that spoiler removal...

Mimi, most of rack manufacturers have a "rack finder" on their website so you can match make/model/yr. Your biggest challenge will probably be dealing with the fenders.

Taking the spoiler off could leave you with an ugly mess and maybe holes.
