Are you using a sunscreen that is clogging your pores?

Age 50 - all the hormones go nuts. I'll be celebrating my 22nd anniversary of my 29th birthday next week, so I know how it is.

    Are you taking DHEA, perchance?

Clearasil Ultra Daily Face Wash is working wonders for both zits and rosacea (that redness that appears a bit like windburn). For tons of info on all sorts of face and hair, sunscreen products etc: www.makeupalley.com. It's consumer reviews and forums.

I've heard the rosacea can be caused by the sun. I've had a red patch on the end of my nose (think: clown) for about a month. It's slowly fading, but it was sure annoying. I used lavender oil on it.

I was having some problems with the skin on my face a couple of years ago and my doc suggested that I try Purpose soap (I actually use the cleansing wash, which is liquid, as opposed to the bar soap). I also switched to Purpose moisturizer about a year ago, and my face appears to be happy with both. Information on Purpose products can be found at http://www.purposeskincare.com/productGuide.shtml. The moisturizer does have sunscreen in it, so that suffices for my normal go-to-work plus take a short walk during the day.

When I'm outside for longer periods of time - as when I am cycling - I use Pre-Sun gel sunscreen. I usually shower as soon as I get home, but even if I don't I do wash the sunscreen and sweat off of my face as soon as possible.
