Talking First Road Shoe ( check) , First speedplay Zero pedals (coming next week)

Well, yesterday in the morning went to my local bike shop with my BF. Got myself nice baby blue Specialized Torch 2005 shoes and ordered Speedplays for next week. I am very excited, and the guys who work there are very helpful and know what they are talking about because they used to race professionally, and they actually are organizing many races on Long Island, NY. So next week i am taking my bike to LBS and they will adjust my pedals .
Yesterday went for a 30 miles ride , averaged 16 mph on my platform pedals, can't wait to see the difference when i put my speedplays. Well, another newbie going clipless.

    Enjoy your rides everybody,

    Marina

My BF decided that he wants Speedplay pedals too because he listened to all good things the LBS guy told me about them ( which i already knew from my research and advice i got from TE). Soooo, I think we will be both proud owners of Zeros next week. Also, I am planning to get myself a new bike next season. My old Raleigh Cyclepro will be my bad weather bike. Can't wait for next year

I ride Zero's as well and am very happy with them... I really like that they're double sided too, so I don't have to worry about flipping them to clip in... every so often I check the screws on the cleats to be sure they haven't loosened up (they DO so check 'em every 3-4 rides) and I hit them with White Lightning maybe once a month... a really great system! Let us know how it goes for you and congrats on the purchase!
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".
