Just got my first road bike!!

    Hey Everyone -

So for about 2 1/2 years or so I had been riding a Specialized hybrid bike, a gift that my husband had gotten me, something simple to see if I would like cycling. Then, I was planning on getting a great road bike in the spring, after I saved up money for it. Well, last night this cycling shop by me was having a 25% off everything sale and let's just say... I couldn't hold back! I broke down and got my bike early. I am sooooo excited!!! I saved $1,000 on everything from bike to shoes (sidis), pedals (Speedplay light action in pink, of course!), and a new saddle (fizik vitesse tri).

So... I present to you.... the gorgeous 2010 Orbea Dama full carbon frame with all Ultegra components!

There is Nothing like the feeling of getting your first road bike, except maybe riding your first road bike. She's a beauty, congratulations!

BTW, I like your quote of the Glen Hansard/Swell Season song. I will be seeing them Monday night, can hardly wait.

haha... Well that is kind of my life motto I figure I might as well start with something nice right away, instead of doing a whole bunch of upgrades down the road and spending more money. Very nice on your husband's bike as well!!

That's kinda what we did for me...though not quite as big as your leap! My Cdale Synapse 5 was more than we originally planned to spend, since it's only my 2nd bike in my entire adult life (previous bike was POS Schwinn mtn bike). But I think my hubby trusted that I am not one of those gals who takes up a sport on a whim and drops it 3 months later (have been running for nearly 4 years and completed 3 marathons...even though I am super slow and suck and a sane woman would have given up long ago, heh). He also looked at the components on the next model or two down and decided that HE wouldn't be happy if I didn't have at least Shimano 105 stuff, heh. Me...I wouldn't likely know the difference.
