    My Sister Got a Bike!

My sister, my neice and I were wandering around the Salavation Army store yesterday and came across this for $59:

It's nearly mint. The only hint of damage is a messed-up rear brake cable and the decals are crackling a bit. The tires don't look like they've ever been ridden, but they're so old that the rubber is brittle.

Gonna take it to the shop today for new tires and cables, and an all-around tune-up. I want to find her a black Brooks B67 or B68 to put on there.

I'm so excited for my sister! I can't wait for the bike to be road-worthy so we can go for a ride.

Cool bike, great deal and I personally LOVE that my sister and I both ride and we have such fun riding together. Can't wait to hear about your rides with your sister!

Here it is! New tires (Bontrager Hard Case), cushy new handlebar wrap, aero brake levers, and an awesome Brooks saddle (many thanks to divingbiker!!!). Eventually it will get more of a commuter treatment (rear rack, lights, etc.) but this is as far as current funding would get us:

The weather is lousy so my sister hasn't even had a chance to ride it yet.
But it should be sunny this weekend, so maybe we can sneak in a ride on Sunday morning.
