    What to Wear?

I have started finding my regular bike shorts to be not so comfy and I prefer to ride with the minimal chamois in my tri shorts. But tri shorts are short and kinda thin and it's kinda cold here, cold enough that I want to at least keep my knees covered.

I could wear knee warmers or leg warmers with my tri shorts or tights over my tri shorts. I really wish someone manufactured tri capris and tights with a minimal chamois, 'cause I'm a princess and I don't like the extra grippers or waistbands. But who would want to swim in something that long?

I found a pair of capris and long tights on ebay, really inexpensive I think they were canari and had a nice minimal chamois.

    Witches britches.

Oh wait, you tried them, then you sold your pair to me. You can't have them back.

Can't you get some basic capris at Target or similar store? No chamois. Wear over shorts.

Oh probably, but you have to be careful about seam placement if there is no chamois.

even if you wear them over tri shorts? I've worn cheap non-cycling capris over shorts without problems, except that they were not warm enough. I wear no-chamois cycling tights when it's below 60F.

I could have sworn that DeSoto made a tri capri. I know I've seen it online somewhere - could have been at trisports.com, all3sports.com, trizone.com, or sportsbasement.com...but it was on one of those "tri" related sites. I'm not sure if they make them anymore...but I think it was part of their "Carerra" line. Perhaps you can find a pair on closeout somewhere.

ETA - I found it! Here ya go -

Thanks CC. I had some Witches Britches that I ended selling to Jobob - padding wasn't quite right. I'm feeling cheap, and I have drawers full of stuff, so I'm going to experiment with what I have. I can tell you that the Assos capris I wore last weekend have way too much padding for my skinny little butt now.

I did add those Desotos to my Christmas list though.

Oh boy!! Those desotos might come in handy for Ironman - sometimes we have iffy weather in June and just below the knee would be perfect.
