My planned 24 mile ride turns into 32...

This was my first non-commuting bike ride (other than our very leisurely 2 mile routes at the beach). I thought I'd take advantage of my daughter's 3 hour synchronized swimming practice this morning.

I spent quite a bit of time mapping out my route using MapMyFitness and Fairfax County's Bike Maps. Well...the cue sheets left a bit to be desired, some streets didn't connect as shown online, and on many sections of the bike route I could have used a mountain bike even though Fairfax said path was good for road bike.

I needed every bit of the 3 hours to get back in time! So next time, I'll make sure to note all the turns explicitly with road names.

Was a nice way to spend the morning though.
