    Big Dummy!

Hoooray! Big Dummies are available now in something other than military green at NO EXTRA CHARGE!

Ok, your other choice is black.... but hey, it's nice! (my CC is black) You can still pay the $250 to get a custom color, too.

    Don't encourage her

Knott, did you see the aubergine big dummy photo on my FB page? I'm trying to import it here with little success. I'll keep trying, it's a beauty.

gee, I'm disappointed in their colors. Chum bucket red? was the only color I liked. Aubergine, that i might like.

Surly does a different color theme every year or so. Since they are a smaller company, they tend to have each bike in only one or two colors each year.

If you order your Big Dummy through Xtracycle, you can choose any custom color for $250 more. (Surly and Xtracycle worked together to create Big Dummy, and Aaron Goss was one of their testers!)

For a while, to publicize the paint options, Xtracycle offered framesets in 6 or 7 different colors at no extra charge. I was THIS close to buying a frame set and hiding it under my bed until I could build it up. There was this lovely pale green...

I'm gonna stand outside near my work and wait till he appears to tell him that an entire women's cycling discussion group lusts after his .... paint choice.

He probably also own the gorgeous purple Riv I sometimes see parked in the same spot.

It's so yummy in that color. But I don't know how a guy would feel to know that women are ogling his....er, um....bike on the internet.

Dh finally ordered his. His buddy gave him a deal on the frame, because he has an overstock of the original color. Apparently the pukey brown color is not that popular with anyone else either. I may go up to Seattle to pick it up when it's ready in a couple of weeks, if I can't make arrangements to have it shipped.

A Big Dummy carries....sleeping baby (8 months old in photo). Baby of a Momentum magazine associate editor. She slept through Bike to Work wk. festivities and music this evening.

Nice front-load cargo bike. (like a bakfiets, but with a cargo tray instead of a box) Is that a JoeBike?

Don't know, Knotted of the bike model.
But another fuller view of bike. Looks like the front handlebar was dismantled to make it a temporary front baby/cargo loader.

No, it was built that way. It's a front load cargo bike.

Here's the same bike when there isn't a baby sleeping in it:
