    Another new bike - yay!

I just got my first real road bike. I've been riding a cyclocross bike (Specialized TriCross) with skinny tires for about 6 months. I want to do cyclocross starting up next month, but I still wanted to be able to ride on the road without switching tires every day. So, new bike for me-yay!

I picked up this beauty 2 weeks ago. I've only been able to take her out twice due to health issues (unfortunately related to the fiasco that was my bike purchase experience), but she's a dream. 2009 Trek Madone 5.2 WSD. I ponied up for a pro fit, and i'm still waiting on new handlebars, stem and seatpost, but so far she's awesome!

Wow, it beautiful. That looks fast just sitting there

Hopefully your health recovers soon. It must be painful not to ride it.

Thanks, I'm doing much better now. You have no idea...

I actually got to take her out last night. No pain (which was part of the issue before the pro fit). Unfortunately, it rained AND I had a flat about 5 miles from my car when it started getting dark. DH hauled butt back to the car and drove to pick me up. But at least I got to ride!

Nice bike! So the bike fit was worth it?

Even without the new parts, its' worth every penny. I was amazed at how thorough the prelim analysis was.. flexibility and range of motion exercises, measurements, etc.

I have a type of autoimmune arthritis that has severely impacted my range of motion in multiple joints, so I was always hurting during a ride on my old bike. On my first ride on the new bike, I was hurting SO bad that I was crying after 10 miles.

After the fit, I'm much more comfortable. The cleat positioning probably made the biggest difference. Absolutely no pain in my hip on yesterday's ride, and that's a miracle (my hip hurts almost all the time to varying degrees due to joint damage). I also no longer hit the tob tube with my knees when I'm pedaling.

I can't wait to see how it feels after all the new parts come in.

I'm glad the fit has helped. I think I will go for a fitting since I have been on the fence about it. I also have an autoimmune disease, lupus and have pain frequently. In August I also bought a bike and have had shoulder and neck pain. Bike riding has become frustrating and it is the only thing I have been able to do lately because running causes too many problems.

Enjoy your bike. It is beautiful.

    Thank you!

I totally get that frustration. It's tough. I highly recommend the fitting. it's amazing what difference a little change can make! I hope you can get back on the bike without frustration soon.
