First time in tri clothes- Am I naked?

I did a full brick yesterday- swam, rode, ran. I was wearing my new DeSoto shorts and racer-back top which has a built in shelf bra. My friend and I hopped on our bikes, and between the damp clothes and the breeze I felt totally naked. When I told my friend she laughed and said she thought the same thing- had to look down and make sure she didn't leave her shorts in her wetsuit.

There is no modestly in triathlon. None. And even tho I sometimes feel "huge" in my tri clothes- I figure if you're looking and think I'm fat- then don't look.

so true! I did my first tri in a white top. We swam in a muddy lake. The mud caught under the top accumulated in such a way as to "high light" my....you know. Mr. was appalled!

That sounds familiar. All our local lakes are muddy, so whenever I get out of the water I have to remember to "wipe the beard" off my face from where the dirt sticks to the very fine hairs. It's a good look (and I never wear white in the lake anymore). I've produced some very odd pictures of me exiting the water with "high lights" and "beards." Nice.

Yeah, there's no hiding anything in tri clothes. But it is sort of liberating to feel like you're running around naked in public.

hehehehe....you really do feel naked...particularly if you are wearing white or if there is a slight wind and you get chilled at any point!

The "gulf" I swam in was more brackish water and lake like. I took a picture (not able to upload here) of the small white hand-towel that I used to wipe the mud/brown bead/mustache, etc off my face! ICK!

Funny, I don't really feel naked in my tri suit. Maybe a bit fat. But not naked. But I was comfortable. I could see wearing it again, even if just running.

I didn't feel naked as in "wow, everyone can see every part of me," I felt literally naked as in the Queen Album:

Nowadays I find it most comfortable to be in the tri suit (or tops/bottoms) and am sad to see fall coming where it'll be too cold and I'll have to put on another layer. My last 2 races are the next 2 weekends, though, and at least this weekend looks to be warmer. I figure by now if they don't want to look at my butt or belly they should look away, plenty of other eye candy around

Hmmm, as a self-professed nude-a-phobe, I'm a little worried about my goal to try and tri sometime next summer. At least my first one this weekend is a relay and I am guessing it is OK for me to wear on my bike what I normally wear on my bike.

Definitely Possegal - wear you're normal bike clothes for the relay.

Some people throw on another layer when they get out of the water. Running/cycling skirts are not unusual to see and they definitely hide things a little more.

Having said that... I say embrace the feeling of almost being nude. It's liberating.
