Feelin' the Jett love

I finally ordered a Jett direct from Specialized since I could never find one in stock in 155 mm. Tried it out on tonight's club ride - I'm going to have to tweak the tilt a little bit, but I'm happy.

The ironic thing was, the Jett was the saddle I wanted 6,000 miles ago, but couldn't find one in stock. My LBS had a 155 Lithia though, so I went ahead and got that, as it's a similar saddle to the Jett and I wasn't really sure what was going to work for me. Once it was on there, it felt okay, definitely way better than the Terry Liberator I had before, and I didn't want to replace it until it was good and worn out (which honestly, there's probably still some life in it, but it's getting there, and it was time).

Turns out I was right the first time. Which is another way of saying that the great advice I got on TE about choosing shape and width and cut-out was spot-on. I wish I'd had a Jett all along.

Oak, I would like to know if you do a longish ride on that Jett, say over 100 miles. I'd like to know if it's still comfortable after that point. Thanks.

Yeah, I tried it for the first time on a short ride (29 mi) on purpose, just in case it didn't work. But I'm not feeling any sitbone soreness whatever, which I was half expecting, transitioning from a much softer saddle. What I'm really not feeling is any slightest hint of chafing and that is new.

I definitely want to get in a 100 in the next couple of weeks before CFC. Much "over" 100 just isn't in my vocabulary these days (not that it really ever was, I think the most I've ever done was about 120). But I'll report back!

I bought the Ruby over the Jett, didn't like the thickness around my inner leg. I now have 1200 miles on it and absolutely love it. Today I bought the Ariel SL for my mtn bike. Hope I love it as much as the Ruby.

I did have to change from my beloved Shebeest Triple S short to ones that has more padding on the sides. I sit slightly sideways on the saddle and felt a little chafing on the right side. However, I'm not noticing that now.

BTW, it did take a few rides to break it in.

That's great! I think the Jett is a terrific roadie saddle, although b/c I was using it for triathlon, it didn't 'quite' work for me. I tried both the 155mm and 143mm (with about 200 miles on each and one good 70 mile ride on each) and although the 143 fit my bum, I actually foudnt the 155 to be slightly more padded and a wee bit more comfy in the long run. Neither of them were great over the 50 mile mark, for me at least. I'm still searching for my nirvana, but I'm glad that you found yours.
