Yes... this is a topic that has been discussed here before. I thought I would *never* be posting this as a result of my TE education. Never wanting to be "that person" whose azz is showing through their shorts. BUT...

What if you had been through so many shorts on your search without luck... and these were 'the ones' ? Worst exception being... umm, the cycling moon is shining away.

Would you keep wearing them? Or give up comfort / performance in your shorts for looks?

Me personally... I'm thinking scr*w it... my bum and woman-hood's pretty happy... just let the moon shine.

It's still tough to justify though. Hmm... what to do...

Btw, the issue is with the shorts being brand new--vs worn out etc.--and not cheap--$99--fwiw.

Put a little cycling skirt on over them, and keep on riding!

get some compression shorts for under em.

Have a bright light wherever you have your full-length mirror, and just make sure the seam's lined up when you dress. It's very difficult to notice then, and if they fit as well as you say, then the seam won't move once they're on.

Life's too short to wear shorts that are more uncomfortable than they need to be. JMO.

(although I'm seriously starting to worry whether "I'm too old to worry about what I look like to other people," is the first step toward "I'm too old to care about other people's feelings," which I see out of so many people... But that's another topic.)

I figured my hind end would be showing before I ever wore them. They are made of the compressive waffle weave fabric stuff.

Got confirmation of the moon last night from my regular ride buddy. She noticed it in the bright sunlight close behind me.

Doing my first event this w/e and she wanted to give me the head's up "fyi". Did I want to wear the shorts with that many strange people riding that close to my back-side?

I'll go with the seam lining up best I can now w/the event near. And consider the skirt for future. They do make a lot of cute ones!

Well, I can't make that claim, but the problem does go both ways ;-)

I retired my first pair of shorts last year after many, many miles... Until one evening a riding buddy called it to my attention. Since then I've been a little more particular than just pulling them on and hitting the saddle.

One way to deal with it, "never look back."

I got notified of my moon on a group ride recently. Ride on! What else can you do right then and there?

However, when I got home, I marked a big X on the tag and relegate those shorts to my winter riding under tights or to spin class (they turn off the lights).
