Not to whip everyone's butts, but....Scandium?

OK...in my search for the Colnago fork (which varies from I am never going to find it to AAAAGGGGGHHHH) I came across the Colnago frame (Strada I think)....it comes with a carbon fork (alum steerer) and carbon stays, the rest is scandium. The FRAME and FORK are $900 or so, the dang fork itself for my 8 yr old carbon C40 is 400.00 at best, and I can't find the all carbon fork. And, apparently, I am finding the drawbacks to carbon fiber...and an 8 yr old frame.
Anyone? Scandium????? I have the components, having JUST put this one together.
The LBS guy I talked to today just stopped distributing Colnagos. He said that Colnago USA is dumping some inventory, he said he was being forced to sell good bikes for well below what their cost was. Good for the consumer, but for a little shop like theirs I see the problem.

Are you asking what is scandium? It is an aluminum alloy. It is supposed to be stiffer and lighter than regular aluminium. (well, technically scandium is an element, but in cycling terms they are talking about a scandium/aluminum alloy)

Indeed it is a misnomer to call a bicycle frame "scandium", but it sure sounds cooler than saying an aluminum scandium alloy..... frame manufacturers, I think, would prefer people to not realize that its still alu...

Are you asking if you can use that fork on your bike, remember you need a 1" steerer tube. If you're considering getting rid of the C40, lemme know!

No, no...I know I can't use that fork on my bike...I can GET a 1" fork (pretty much the same one that comes on the scandium bike only in the correct size). The point would be that if I am paying $500 for that, should I pay the $900, get the scandium Colnago, stick my campy stuff on it, and hang around and wait for one that matches my C40 and is the right size to appear on ebay? Then move my stuff BACK and have a backup frame/fork? I can change frames PRETTY easily and cheaply.
I really don't know if it is worth it, if it is a decent enough frame to warrant that....I have never really ridden an aluminum bike (I went from steel frame to my carbon fiber Ruby)....
