    July 25 rides!

I decided to do a a little ride before the ride:

The I went on the club ride. Last week I think I surprized some folks. I went through a light right when it changed. The "peloton" caught me on the first hill, but I chased back on While I didn't have that luck today (the lights weren't on my side), but I noticed some of the "hammerheads" didn't want to do the medium ride, so we had a reduced regroup:

I had to laugh as on the rides took great umbrage at being passed by a fat babe on a recumbent. uphill. twice.
It took forever to get my coffee, so I didn't tarry at social hour, now to bake my crossiants for the Tour De France Party!

    Great job, Fredwina.

I did 30 with a training group (Team Bike Buddies) training for the Ride MS ride in September. I had my highest average in a long time. I felt good, the weather was good, and all the stars lined up.

I forgot my camera, but saw lots of neat things: new baby horses, baby calves, a woman training her horse (he was a beauty), and a little bi-plane doing tricks in the air.

Nice report Fredwina! love the pics - as usual!

TriGirl... sure was "thick" out there today, wasn't it? Woof

I went out "late" b/c I was watching the Tour live and couldn't pull myself away right after. Anyway - I didn't think it was that hot when I left. Woof. It may have only been 95 out there, but it sure felt humid! Think maybe we have some increased chance for rain or something. I just couldn't seem to breathe right/well. Bahhh!

I haven't downloaded my Garmin yet, but I'm sure the speed is slow compared to some recent rides. Still - its better than any day on the couch, right? And its certainly better than last weekend (when I was down with flu-like junk Sat/Sun).

37 miles today.. pretty flat terrain - less than 1000' climbing.

Maybe... Actually I think I may be free that weekend. I'll have to check the ol' calendar and see, but it looks like a lot of fun! It's on the short list for sure. I don't often get to that area to ride, but it's soooo pretty, that whenever I do I'm really glad I did.

You should do the MS Ride. It starts in T-town and ends up in the City (with an overnight stay in Chandler). 70 the first day (with an optional century) and 60 the second day. http://bikeoke.nationalmssociety.org...E_OKE_homepage
I'll do yours if you'll do mine. hee hee- just kidding

And I got out early enough that it wasn't too bad out there- 'cept that the wind was kickin' it like crazy out of the SW. Yowza!

Did a hair over 19 miles early this morning, as my son was coming over to go swimming.
We did the "flat" route in the opposite direction, which is a little longer than the normal way we do it because of a one way street. My DH pushed me relentlessly and I felt it. I was able to stay behind him, save for a couple of times when he sprinted up little rollers. I just can't do that; I feel so much more comfortable spinning. But, I was able to go up these little climbs at a faster pace. Before we started up the hill for the final big climb, my average was 17.8 and 16.4 when I got to my house. I don't usually like to report my speed, but this was a first for me.
I was exhausted when we got back, but we had a nice picnic at the pond with our son. I think it's the first time I've seen him without his girlfriend being there in a year.
