    Rides/routes around Ocean City?

I'm going to the beach for 4 days with family. I'm not a beach person, the whole sitting in the sand sunbathing while reading a book just doesn't work. I suck at it. Playing in the waves - fun if I have my kayak, otherwise, meh. Fun for an hour or so, but not 4 days worth fun.

I think I can get away with bringing my bike & going for rides for a few hours - anyone have any suggested routes? I could see it being nice around Rehobeth or Dewey to ride, but I don't remember the roads being anything more than cluttered beach traffic around Ocean city.

Maybe I'll go to the library this evening and get some books.

If you head north to Rehoboth or Dewey, head west too. (Actually, the same is probably true of OC.) The areas around Route 1 are terrible for traffic, and even the secondary roads are getting more and more crowded. I was in Millsboro today for work, and couldn't believe the volume on secondary roads taht I used to ride when I lived in Lewes.

Let me dwell on this some more, and maybe I can come up with a better response. Or maybe Withm will have some ideas.

Thanks Becky, maybe I'll just leave the bike at home and embrace doing nothing.

No, I think that you should take the bike. Just ride early, ride inland, and be aware of traffic.

On the other hand, I think Zen's idea idea is a good one too

Drinking would definitely while away the time!

Waking up early... that's a whole different problem! I haven't completed my revolution yet.

I'll google around and see if I can find some bike routes around there.
