    rear view mirror

Any advise on a good lightweight rear view mirror for a high end road bike? My friend is just recovering from facial stitches from a nasty accident and I decided it's time to get a mirror on my bars!

There are lots of threads already thoroughly covering various mirror options.
Please see this recent mirror thread, which has links to many other mirror threads:

It's easy to use TE's SEARCH function to find threads about subjects that come up often. All I did was go to the top of the page to "Search" and checks 'threads' and type in "rear view mirror"....voila!

It's a personal preference thing -- mine's on my helmet. Others' have 'em on handlebars or glasses. Since I ride 5 diferent bikes, the helmet option is cheaper

Another mirror choice, for what it's worth: The Cycle Star bar end mirror by Busch & Muller:

I just installed it on my new road bike handlebar and love it. No shake; small enough to be unobtrusive; big enough to be useful.

Go to CycleAware, pick one out, and when you're checking out, enter the coupon code LCI1853 (my LCI registration number). It's good for 15% off your purchase until December 31 this year.
