If you have a sibling, near or far, please reach out to them and tell them you love them today. A hug, a kind word - do this for me.

Last week, I celebrated my 41st birthday on Monday and became an only child on Thursday. I will love my younger brother forever, and didn't get a last chance to tell him I loved him.

SheFly, I am so sorry about your loss. I unexpectedly lost my older brother 18 years ago and wished I had reached out to him. You just never know how much time you have with the ones you love.

Cathy, I am so sorry about your brother. What you said really affected me; I have just recently reconnected with my brother, who is 10 years younger than me.
    I will call him tonight.

SheFly - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have made it a goal for 2009 to reach out to those near and dear to me and let them know how much they mean to me but thank you for the reminder.

You and your family are in my prayers. ((hugs))

So sorry for your loss! If it's any comfort -- over the 41 years, even if you never said it, I bet your brother figured it out that you loved him. Still, it's good advice you've given us. I'll be sure to give my sibs and other family members big hugs when I see them this coming weekend.

So sorry to learn of your loss. Your plea hit a nerve with me.
I lost my younger brother some time ago, during my workaholic phase. Never went home for holidays and such because there would always be time "later".
He died at Christmas and it was a harsh wake-up call that there would be no "later".

You and your family are in my thoughts.

Oh. SheFly, I am SO sorry. I truly am.
