    My day is awesome cause:

    1) I have an awesome politely pinked out bike in my bike cabinet.
    2) I got to ride it today and am no longer suffering from DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) from riding my monumental milestone ride of 4450 ft of climbing ride within the first 34 miles on Monday.
    3) I have an amazing husband and wicked cool children.
    4) I'm going to an appreciation dinner for my cycling club in a few minutes with my amazing husband and NOT my wicked cool children. Date night!
    5) God has blessed me greatly.

    AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Weird day. I took my son, his two friends and my dad to Branson, MO, to go to Silver Dollar City (amusement park). Since my car only seats 4, we took my dad's car, and I left my Element on the curb in front of my dad's, like I had a million times before.

It wasn't until we got to Branson that we found out SDC doesn't open on Wednesdays until NEXT week! We had free passes for everyone, so I ended up springing for the boys to go to Ripley's instead, and play putt putt, so I ended up spending a LOT of money.

We came home early, of course, but not before my dad's wife got home from work. She noticed the wreck right away. The neighbors came piling out of the house when she got home and explaine thus:

The across-the-street neighbor apparently got in an altercation with a door-to-door salesman. I don't know why, but the neighbor tried to run the guy over with his car, and in the process sideswiped MY car! The neighbors also said this neighbor spent an hour screaming at the gas company service man in the front yard the day before. He's a whack job. Says he has insurance, but the cop who took the report was off by the time we got there and I still have not heard from him.

    The estimate is $2,000.

I'll stop wrecking the Awesome Thread with the non-awesome, now.

Nope, the awesome part is that it could have been a lot worse...

The awesome part is that you have a great story about how your car got wrecked other than 'some jerk sideswiped me at the supermarket'... you get to say "some crazy guy was chasing a door to door salesman and tried to run him over but hit my car instead"...

that musta been one fast salesman... was he on foot or in a car?

Yep, it can always be worse!

I still don't know what the argument was about, but I hope I find something out before the end of tomorrow.

I'm feeling better about it, although I can't stand to look at the gash.

Here's something awesome. My 3 yo grandson fell off the counter and dislocated his elbow--that's not the awesome part--his parents thought it was broken, but it wasn't! AND, they didn't have to reduce it because it slipped back into place while they were waiting in the ER. The picture of him in a sling was pitiful, though.

I'm count-yer-blessings kinda gal, but sometimes they're hard to see.

I had a coolio ride today as i now have a compact double on my bike Wow what a difference it made on the hills i played on today in Kings Park & near Freo. I will have to test it out on some real hills on Mundaring Weir Road..

I think it was Trekhawk that suggested it

    My legs are happier

    Today is awesome because:

    - after being sick for 9 days (and off the bike),
    - I slept all night without NyQuil
    - I had a pound of fresh strawberries for breakfast,
    - I'm looking forward to watching SilverSon in the Academic Bowl STATE championships tomorrow at Purdue, and
    - I'm looking forward to riding with Silver this weekend

The skip is back in my step!

    also;
old ex flame whom I contacted after 8 years wrote me.
    sadly,
was going to get married, but got addicted to drugs. His girl left him for another and then suicided.
He three years later, cleaned up , had another girl but she moved in with him, unasked.
    Never payed rent.
He threw her out,and she SUED HIM!
Hes 3000 in debt from doctors bills, overdue rent, general bills, is on food stamps and sold his beloved acoustic guitar to pay rent. had to get a bankruptcy.

Whats awesome, is that I have money saved up, and am sending him a 1000!!( he was always really good to me, even though it never worked out.
I am waiting to see what he says( I bet he will be surprised!)

Awesome things (well, only to me) today so far:

*Finished my daily ride, etc. -32 kms. today.
*Found out my dearie is about 100 kms. outside of Brussels.
*Wierd, but not awesome: trying to prepare for test. However I think the testing is rigged and hence, the "winner" won't be me. Guess I should feel complimented for being selected in the shortlist. It's like going for a bike ride and knowing already one will finish near last in the end.

And not awesome: Found out a few days ago that my father may have strong possibility of prostate cancer. He turned 80 earlier this year.
