Hmm, I have mixed feelings.
On one hand, it might draw more spectators. The weather is generally more cooperative in May -- this past rainy and cold and miserable week or two in NorCal notwithstanding
But yes, for cyclists in general, esp in No Cal, there is so much going on in April and May already, with many popular rides already winding up on the same weekend, it might only add to the scheduling hassle. Especially if the ToC goes through the same area as a particular ride, I could imagine getting permits for certain rides might be a bit more of a hassle than it probably already is.
I can imagine event rides might be moved either earlier or later -- and April/early May is already crowded so hopefully some of the affected events would be moved later.
Ed to add: Ah, I see. They might move the route towards the Sierras on account of the later date, with a potential mountaintop finish. The dates are May 16-23. Eh, might not be as much of a conflict as I originally though. This could be cool.
