    Anyone teach an AP class?

I teach AP Calculus, and the test is Wed. morning. The final days. On Thursday, I WON'T be rotating anything around any kind of axis or finding ANY rates of change. I think we are going to just eat pizza.

    Anyone else feeling the strain?

Good luck with the test (you've done all you can do- it's in the hands of fate now). I don't teach an AP class, but my good friend teaches AP biology. He said when it's over he's going to let them play video games, sleep, eat, do whatever they want in class.
I teach 5th grade and we do state testing in ALL subject areas in April (including a big writing test in February), and when it's over I feel a HUGE relief.

It is a relief isn't it? And we thought OUR testing was over when we graduated from college. Boy were we wrong!

I hope all goes well for your friend! I have one teaching AP Bio too. In Calculus, you just have to score a certain amount, but in the Bio test, I understand that you are scored compared to everyone else who took the test nationwide. Yeeesh!

My students AP portfolios are due this Thursday and we are running on borrowed time and I think when we are done we will have some down time.

How does it work with art? I know we have to take the test at a certain time on a certain day The tests are mailed, but it's multiple choice and short answer and I can't be anywhere near them when they take it. Do you send in the portfolios? How are they graded? Isn't art pretty subjective?

It's pretty cool that they can earn college credit in so many areas, isn't it?

well hats off to you AP teachers. thank you for your work and dedication.
Both my boys took LOTS of AP stuff, calc, biology, physics A, B, C, etc.... they loved the challenge and the work. The second son actually took 27 AP credits to college with him last fall. It saves him almost a full year of college.
