    I need cover letter examples

I need to write a "knock their socks off" cover letter. Does anyone know of some good websites that have examples/templates?

It's been a long time since I've applied for a job. But I'm looking now so I think the cover letter must be custom for each job. You'll need to briefly, simply and well say why you are perfect for that job.

Which means custom on each one I think.

You might come up with a good letter for particular types of jobs, tweak each one for the company or that job. That shows HR that you looked, read, researched.

With the amount of competition if you grab one from a website your letter will look and read like everyone else from that site.

You have about a second of the HR persons time to grab them. It's like designing that perfect advertisement. All that work and you look at it for a second.

So write a great opening sentence.

Cover letters are surprisingly hard to write. I've written a few in the last little while, and I always read all the online ones I can find, and then work like crazy to make sure mine doesn't sound like that.

Try to find a hook about why you are perfect for the company and what you bring that no one else can. Your letter will stand above all the rest, because of YOU.
