I just read the cyclingnews.com report on that and it sounded like a big party the whole route. You're right tho....Lemon Drop Hill sounds like THE place to be!
as for the cyclists riding around, probably so they don't cramp in case their massageurs (sp) aren't ready from them yet or they don't have one. It could also be they were going to be travelling fairly soon and wanted to get the lactic acid out of their legs before sitting in a car for a long drive.
