I did a quick look through the boards, but I didn't see any other thread about this. Am I the only one who was at the USPro Championship Race this past weekend?!?
The best part was I discovered the "insider" secret to watching this race!
The majority of tourists/residents hang out in Manayunk for the famous "wall," or at the art museum for the finish line.
On the other hand, all the cyclists are hanging out at Lemon Hill. It rocked!!! The local LBS's set up tents, grill, and invite everyone they know. They bring their fun bikes that they have hanging around the shop. Most people bike over, so there are bikes *everywhere*! Everyone made at stop at Lemon Hill part of their weekend ride, so most people were in cycling clothing. Essentially, it's a huge cyclist party.
Even more fun? Cheering for EVERYONE! Guess who got the loudest cheers? The SOLO riders struggling to make it up the hill. Especially the one female who obviously was suffering from a cramp.
Even the announcer commented to the crowd about how awesome it was that we cheered for everyone.
So much fun - I'm definitely doing it again next year despite the sun burn I got this year!
ETA: I have a question!!! After the women were done racing, I saw many of the teams out on a local road riding around. Why go for a ride directly after a race? They were definitely going very slow.

I just read the cyclingnews.com report on that and it sounded like a big party the whole route. You're right tho....Lemon Drop Hill sounds like THE place to be!
