    Posting pics

Ok, after being on the forum for a number years, I tried to post pics in the "show us your pet" thread for the first time last night.

I could not get it to work. Since I cannot resize pics in My Pictures where the camera downloads I opened a Photobucket account. I tried clicking the file in the URL attachments section, but it is not recognizing the file.

Can anyone help me out. My computer skills seem to only go so far I guess.

It's easy to resize pictures using this site:

    http://www.resizemypicture.com/

Save the resized pic on your computer, then post it here.

If you've set up a Photobucket account and uploaded your photos there, use their Edit function to re-size them. Then:

    1. Copy the Direct Link url at Photobucket for the image you want to post.

    2. Click the Insert Image icon in the TE post editor.

    3. Paste the url.

    Should work.

    Thanks to both replys.

I will give it a try tonight. The insert image icon was the key.

The resizemypic link is great to know in case I don't feel like using photobucket. Actually this is the only reason why I opened the account.

I use photobucket- it is free. I upload pics and can resize, edit, add text and many other things there. Then you just copy the code and past in your reply.

    Sorry to be so dense.

I pasted the URL into the Insert Image and only the link came up when I previewed the post. How do I get the pic to come up?

Jo, if you PM me the link you are inserting pointing to your image, I might be able to figure out the problem.

When you uploaded your picture to Photobucket, underneath the picture there are 4 choices. Run your cursor to the bottom of those 4 choices to go to "link options". Click on that. A new window will open and click on IMG for bulletin boards and forums. Click on "copy". Now paste it into your reply and preview to see if your picture posted instead of the link.
