Bike Panniers-anyone have these?

But what do you think of the hooking system? I love the ..aesthetic design even though they will get somewhat splashed where we are.

How cute! The hooking system is pretty basic. I have some panniers with a similar attachment, and I augment it with a few bungie cords. But it's simple and will fit on any rack. I like them alot (just carry extra bungies in the bottom in case that elastic breaks)

They are cute, but a little pricey...I have that same system on my Trek Grocery pannier and I like it. Stays on the bike solidly and the ring at the bottom keeps it from swaying. Has attached to all racks I've used.

One thing about panniers is that you have to decide whether you want to take them with you when you leave your bike outside. The nicer the panniers are and the easier on/off they are, the more tempting they will be to thieves. I'm guessing you'd be taking those babies in with you once you arrive at work or at the store- they are very appealing!

My panniers are just for grocery shopping- they didn't cost much (less than 1/4 of what those Queen bee bags cost) and I have them pretty firmly attached to my bike's rack with several extra hidden zip ties so that taking them would be a bit of a hassle. That way, I feel ok leaving them on my bike while I'm in the supermarket, only taking my re-usable grocery tote bags in with me to fill. Thus, I chose to put my panniers on as a permanent accessory for my 'errand/shopping bike'.

I tend to think that if you're looking for panniers for commuting to work, you'd want something either professional looking or with a bit of style if you can afford it. It's bad enough that I have sweaty clothes draped discretely around the office drying out during the day (hidden behind my desk or behind the door), but a pile of filthy rugged panniers (which IS what I have right now!) doesn't do much to improve my professional image. It would be nice to have panniers that would look cool sitting in my office.

I always take off my bike panniers and walk around with them, as I shop. It's just me. I've been doing this for over last 16 yrs.

Maybe if there's time, I'll look into these biz when I get to Portland.

Wow, those are adorable! Their whole selection of bags is really cute if a bit pricey. Those are the type of pannier that I would definitely take off my bike and carry with me in the stores. Of course, around here, that's what everyone does so it's totally 'in vogue' to do so.

And guess where I'm going next Saturday? They have a studio downtown!

I have one of Queen Bee's wallets and love it! Those are SUPER cute! Yes, her stuff is expensive, but if it's essentially your work bag... I can justify nearly anything!
