kicking myself in the butt WHAAAAAA!!!!!

Last year, the signup for Breathless in agony took two days to fill up.

Today it filled up after only 8 hours!!! HOW COULD THEY!!! I was sitting on the fence about doing this ride. Wasn't sure if I would be ready. Finally decided oh why not just few minutes ago and only to find out IT SOLD OUT BY 4:30PM ish... NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!!!!

WHHAAAA!!!! KICKING MY SELF. OKAY SO THERE IS THE DEATH RIDE. Jan 14. Wed. 10AM for the sign-up. Okay now I have to sign up for the easier ride like the ride around the bear.

It wasn't like this years ago. The first time I did the breathless, the signup didn't close out. Nor did the death ride. What's happening? Is everyone gone bonkers and think they can do these rides? I know I was a certified nuts to be doing these kind of rides but not everyone is certifiably nuts for wanting to do these rides.

Look around you - there are a lot more people riding these days! Which is great, except when it comes time to sign up for events.

Yup there are definitely more people doing these rides, in general. And I think that's a good thing.

So maybe, ultimately, there need to be MORE rides. Like that new Alta Alpina double (and its variations - you don't have to do 200 miles, but you do the same and more passes as the Death ride). I am hoping that has a good turn out for them. http://www.altaalpina.com/challenge/

Do they have a wait list or cancellation sell site? A lot of people have things come up and transfer registrations for rides with caps around here.

Cycle Zydeco filled up in 8 minutes. I'm amazed I got in.

I think it's good that rides are getting more popular, but the downside is the increased competition to participate.

Last year, Triple Bypass filled in 11 days. This year, 2 days. We weren't sure if we wanted in, but the decision was made for us.
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.
