    That will show him

DH has this nasty little habit of taking off with the floor pump in his truck preventing me from riding. He doesn't do it to prevent me from riding, just doesn't think that "hey someone else might need to inflate the tires". So today I went to REI and bought my own floor pump. Problem solved and he better not wind up with both in his truck or I will clobber him. I wanted to get the pink floor pump so he would be a little embarassed to take it but then I remembered he used to take my pink polar bottle if it was clean, pink doesn't embarass him.

You have a confident and very cool DH if he tolerates pink well. Maybe you should tie the ultimate man deterrent--some "feminine hygiene" supplies--to it.

Or store it behind the vacuum cleaner.

If they were raised with sisters this doesn't work.

My DH has an older digital camera that he likes just fine, but I find to be very cunbersome and complex. So I decided last year to get my own digital camera- it is very small, light and....pink! I'm not typically a pink person, but I did it with the idea in the back of my mind that he wouldn't want to borrow it if it was pink.
The moment he first saw it he said "I bet you thought that if you got a pink one I wouldn't borrow it, right?...well that won't work because I don't care whether it's pink or not." So- he beat me at my own game, but happily he is very considerate about borrowing things so we don't have a problem with the cameras.

I did have to put my own toolbox together though, but that was because *I* was the one borrowing and forgetting to return his tools occasionally, which of course drove him nuts. Luckily, I already had quite a few tools still from 'pre-DH' days.

Margo- I think if I tied a tampon to my pink digital camera DH wouldn't care (except he might think I needed 'help'), but *I* would be too embarrassed to use it! He vacuums too sometimes. Oy, what's a girl to do?

A tampon would not deter my husband. If I need such items he will go to the store because it is on his way home, he could care less. He has seriously called me standing on that aisle "So which brand do you prefer again?" Hopefully just two floor pumps solves the problem!

Oh and to make him sound like a really great guy- he is the vacuumer. I hate the noise so he does it. In fact, I seriously could not tell you right now where we keep the vacuum.

Along this line of 'borrowing' things...

When my daughters were younger, I used to get so furious when they'd lose all of their scissors, then take my scissors from my desk, neglecting to bring it back, and I could never find it when I needed it.
So I bought a sturdy rope and TIED my scissors to my desk.
Well, you guessed it. One day I found they used the scissors to cut the rope and then made off with the scissors again. DOH!!!!! Oh, the cruel IRONY!!!

I visited my mother (named Susan) at her office once and found a stapler in her desk, with a message sellotaped along the top: "This stapler is SUSAN'S, dammit!"

My bf'll run off with my pink pump at the drop of the hat, it's the best pump we have between the 2 of us.

When he first used it, he looked at me in surprise and said "wow, this pump works pretty well" And I said "why do you sound so surprised?" "It's just pretty good for a walmart pump" "That might be because I bought it at REI."
