Silver's Epic (there's that word) Ride!

Yesterday, Silver once again completed the epic New Harmonie/New Albany ride from the Wabash River to the Ohio River. This year, they actually completed the river crossing to Louisville.

This ride starts on the Illinois line in the small artists community of New Harmonie Indiana going east through the SW Indiana farmland into the rolling hills of Southern Indiana - an area steeped in history.

Sorry...I can't figure out how to make the pics smaller

    Looks like a great ride.

The bridges and of course, the Ohio remind me of my hometown, Pittsburgh.

141 miles! That's epic in my mind. Love the nightime shot with bridge and lights in the background and all of that reflective stuff ...reflecting! Thanks for sharing!

Really nice pictures, thanks for posting them! That's a LONG ride.

    One interesting thing I noticed...
Even though all three riders are wearing plenty of reflective strips, notice how they look in every picture if you squint your eyes...pretending as though you are an elderly driver with poor eyesight. When you squint, the two riders in red practically disappear, but the guy in hi-vis screaming yellow still jumps right out at you. This makes me really glad that my personal policy is to always wearing a screaming yellow article of clothing every time I ride.

Again, great photos! (did you take all the photos, Mr. S?)

And Zen- quit posting pictures of that pimply Brady Bunch kid pretending to be a man! eeeeeeeewwwww!

Mr. S. Was this an organized ride or just organized by you guys for the 3 riders? How long did it take them to do the ride?

I think 141 definitely qualifies as "epic."

Lisa, yes, I was the photographer...but using one of the other rider's cameras, so I didn't do as well as I'd like.

I've stopped wearing red and only favor Hi-Vis Green and Yellow. Another thing we learned is that the new LED lights are nearly worthless unless they aimed straight back...they lose intensity to the driver if they are at an angle.

7, they left at sunrise - 7AM Central and arrived 10.5 hours later - including a few stops (for some reason, they passed on the Possum Junction stop???). Their moving time averaged 17.5mph.

The guy in red just did his first IronMan and finished well. They guy in green just did his first century a couple weeks ago. They're both in their mid 40's like us.

I was trying to figure out which rider was Mr. Silver! I guess someone has to take the pictures. It is like every family picture album at my house. It looks like my husband is a single parent because I'm sure not in any of them.

I believe this qualifis as epic. For one thing, they look cold and that is not fun for me.

I have a purple jacket, but I need to get one that is high viz I reckon.
