    race skills clinic

FYI for MABRA area people interesting in road racing:

    Introduction to Racing Clinic:
    November 2nd/Wheaton MD:

Once again, Artemis will host a very basic road racing clinic to help get you started. NOW is the time to get familiar with how to race without the stress of race day. Space is limited space, so tell your friends and register early! Registration on Bike Reg, ONLY: http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=7190

I took this class several (like 6) years ago and found it very useful. I wasn't sure if I was interested in re-entering the racing world, but I did get refreshed on some useful techniques. I recommend the Artemis class!

Their reputation precedes them on the road...and it's not very good.
With a few noteable exceptions, they are known for being standoffish to the point of arrogance. Fiercely protective of their own, they barely acknowledge anyone in a group who is not wearing their colors.
It's those "skills" I would not hope to learn.

That's true (about many of the attitudes on the team), but I've heard good things about the clinic. I will be out of town and not attending, but I thought I'd pass it along. I imagine that Evelyn will be doing a lot of the organizing, and she is pretty friendly to 'outsiders.'

Sounds like every bike racing team I have ever met (even the ones that I was on). Nothing unique about them! Very few provide clinics like Artemis does.

It's not like that out here...... Sure, when we are racing its all business, but we're mostly friends off the course. (we've just accepted a gal from Artemis, who has moved (back maybe?) out here on our team for the coming year)
