    My first Road Bike!

I finally got a road bike today!

    I bought a Trek WSD 1.2 '08 model (47cm frame) from my LBS--got it for $700.

They threw in 2 Bontrager Sideswipe cages with bottles, and I had them add a wireless Cateye 8 function computer thingie, and the saddle bag.

I haven't picked a name for it yet but did get it out for a quick 10 minute ride and love it! It's SO FAST! I'm going to take it out for a 25-30 mile ride tomorrow. Then on Saturday, I've got my first group ride! A 50 miler.

    Photos after the specs.

It's got carbon fiber forks and seat post--the rest of frame is aluminum. Here's all the specs:

    Frame Alpha White Aluminum
    Fork Bontrager Approved, carbon
    Wheels
Wheels Alloy hubs; Alex alloy rims w/eyelets
    Tires Bontrager Select, 700×25c (43cm: 650×25c)
    Drivetrain
Shifters Shimano 2203 STI, 8 speed
    Front Derailleur Shimano 2203
    Rear Derailleur Shimano Sora
    Crank Bontrager Sport 50/39/30
    Cassette SRAM 850 12-26, 8 speed
Pedals Nylon body w/alloy cage; clips and straps
    Components
    Saddle Bontrager Race Basic
    Seat Post Bontrager Carbon
    Handlebars Bontrager Select VR, 31.8mm
Stem Bontrager Select, 7 degree, 31.8mm
Headset Aheadset Slimstak w/semi-cartridge bearings, sealed
Brakeset Alloy dual pivot w/Shimano 2203 STI levers

    Looks great!

A 50-miler on Saturday? Wow! Even though this is your first road bike, you've ridden lots before I gather - what did you ride?

I've been riding a Raleigh Hybrid since April and have logged almost 1800 miles on it since then, with my longest distance to date being 65 miles. I typically ride 90-130 or so miles per week.

What kind of Raleigh Hybrid, specifically? Ive been looking for a beater bike/commuter and just rode the Raleigh Cadent FC1. It sparked my interest but not too much info on this bike around the 'net.

BEAUTIFUL! (However, I just bought a Trek with the same seat--be careful, I never had problems before and was fit at the LBS! Bought a Brooks...........)
