It's kind've funny... I suppose the bear was so surprised and startled, it didn't want to hang around to assess the situation.
I mean, how many things in the world can knock a bear off its feet? It probably thought the cyclist was some super-predator!
Glad the injuries for both parties seem to be minimal... but I wonder how the bike is. If it survived in tact, wouldn't that be great advertising for the company...

Someone ran into a deer a couple years back in Michigan at a charity (?) ride! Animals... one more thing for me to watch out for.![]()
I ran over a squirrel last year. He scampered out in front of me on a bike path and squatted down. No time to swerve or stop. He ran away by the time I turned around. I also had a chipmunk jump into my front spokes from the side of the road. I'm not sure how well he made out. Now, when I see any animal in the road, I whistle so they know I'm coming.
