    Autumn approacheth...running w/o September 8

    Post 'em.

I did an easy 5 mile recovery run yesterday. Was going to do another one tonight but got too wrapped up in trying to find a new pair of running shoes. Probably needed a night off anyway.

Autumn? It is still hotter n hell in sweltering Tejas! I went for three laps (2.4 miles) at the local jogging trail last night. It was awful, I felt like I had lead in my quads, my knees were hurting, had this dull stomach cramp but more like gas than a normal running one and the heat was really wearing on me. Plus I had my annual right before it and for some reason it just wasn't a good experience (not that they ever are) but seriously first one that kinda hurt. Just a bad day, bad run. It happens, tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I will be able to do 4.5 laps like I planned last night.

Commuted on foot to the bank today -- took the dog, so short (she's getting older). 3.5 miles, and I tried to walk it all, but I get SO bored! Had to throw in some jogging.

I ran 3 miles along the beach yesterday. My first run after the half marathon. My legs felt great, but my lungs not so.

Why does my endurance decrease so drastically?

    Half Marathon

There's a 1/2 Marathon coming up on Sept. 20th. I get comped into the race because I do a lot of work with the race director.

However, I haven't trained for it. The longest run I've done is 7.5 miles 2 weeks ago. I've been doing 1 hr 10 min trail runs. And I have been consistently running 3 days a week.

AND, I have been doing 2 hour mountain and road bike rides 2-3 times a week as well.

I'm thinking, yes, the 1/2 marathon is going to hurt . . . but I should still go for it?

    I'm not afraid to walk.
