    Reviews for bikes

I'm doing a little looking online before my first "real" bike purchase and wondered where to look for real people's reviews of bikes.

I would like to know more about the Schwinn Le Tour GSW. I find lots of listings for the bike, but it's the same review everytime. Anyone have one of these bikes? Pros? Cons? Other bikes to recommend and where to check them out before I browse in person? I just don't want to be completely overwhelmed the first time I actually go to a bike shop.

I'm 5'9" and a frequent rider--I do lots of longer rides (20-40) plus 500-mile week long ride every summer.

    Thanks!

IMO there may be more than one bike that's good for you. YOu'll want to ride lots of them to see what fits well - and see which bike shop fits well, too. Kinda like shoes if you have funny feet (like I do). You want to find a bike shop you can have a relationship with

Best review is the one you do by actually riding the bike(s) you are thinking about buying. Nothing beats the feel of the real deal and everyone has an opinion....and all that.

I would still read about the bike but riding it should settle the matter.

That said AFTER I bought my Giant Suede I went to the Giant website to registered it and there was a place where you could read and give reviews. I was surprised to see most of the reviews reflected the way I felt about this bike. There was only one negative review and Giant left it which I thought was good, not everyone will totally be in love with their products.

So you might try the manufacturer's website and see what's being said.

    Good luck and happy riding!
