Simple Changes Making You Happy
My husband and I haver been doing a lot of hybrid commuting. We will drop the other at work and leave one of us with the car. It is easier than getting up at 4:40 am to ride to work and keeps the gas hog truck parked. It uses about 1 extra gallon of gas on my car but makes it easier for us to stick with it. This week it will be four days, when we were trying to ride in the morning we were lucky to do it two days.
For example, yesterday he had an eye doctor appointment so he dropped me at work and I rode the 27 miles home. He drove to work and home. This morning he rode with me to work and then rode his bike to his job. He will ride home.
What I have noticed is this now forces me to walk if I want lunch or if I need to run an errand. Yesterday I had to walk to the LBS (I could have rode my bike but this walk was easier). I have noticed I feel really happy when I walk to the sandwich shop or when I walked to the LBS.
It is good for your physically and mentally and good for mother earth. I didn't even mind the 80% humidity. Today I have the car and want lunch. I am going to walk.
