    failure at avoiding new bike

well, I thought you guys had talked some sense into me. But today while visiting my parents in rolla, I dropped by rte 66 bike shop to ride some more mountain bikes (I've been test riding them all week, just trying to get a feel for different brands and different sizes, and talking about mountain bikes to the bike shop guys).
I was riding bikes that were out of my price range, which was under $400. I tried a $700 gary fisher with disc brakes, and some $500 treks. I liked the way the gary fisher bike fit me, and the bike shop guy said they tended to be longer. I was about done riding and was getting ready to leave, and he remembered a gary fisher wahoo he had that was closer to what I was wanting to spend than the disc one. I loved it the minute I got on it, went back to the shop and said "this is my bike". They delivered it to my parent's house, because I didn't have a car I could carry it in. So I had to leave it there till I go down with a bike rack next week. So here it is....

Sweet! What's her name? If no name yet, might I suggest Truffle?

no name yet... my bikes tend to have simple names, like "pink bike", and "trek".

The color is called "warm earth metallic". Definitely a nice bike for the money.

I'd call it "The Gary" as in "I'm going to hop on The Gary for a nice, long ride."

    Congrats!

So you finally got a bike at Dan's place! I think I have purchased 4 from him myself. He always drops whatever he is doing to see what my latest problem or idea is.

I love that bike you bought, and it comes in brown? I've regretted selling my Gary Fisher Advance for about a year now and have been scouring craigslist and ebay for another.

Now, go to Lion's Club Park. There is a mountain bike trail there and you will love it! It's at Lions Club Park and it's fairly tame but beautiful! You can stop by Rte 66 for directions or see it here.

I was just thinking of going to pick it up today, although I just made the drive yesterday, I hate to leave it and not see again till next weekend. I checked out the trails by lion's club park on the computer, can't wait to try them. But I promised my 4 year old I'd take him to six flags today, so I think two rolla trips in one weekend might be out for this weekend.
My trek came back from gisallo's in great shape, no clicking bottom bracket any more, so it would be nice to get in a ride on it today, but not sure if that'll happen because of the six flags promise....

I'm glad my Six Flag days are over! I worked there in High School, and then the kids had to go every year...I'll be thinking of you. It's suppose to be hot today too.

Why don't I just go over and get the bike for you and report back to you on how much I like it?

Congrats on the bike and have fun today. They are little for only a little while!

Six Flags, huh? I guess the kids gotta have their fun.

Let us know how that first ride goes . . .

Oh, and that color . . . just reminded me how long it's been since I've had one of these:
