My weekend plans have all gone up in flames!
Ladies, can I whine for a moment? Please? Okay, thanks.
So, my new gentlemen friend (not quite ready to call him my BF) and I had some fun and romantic plans for Saturday that we had to cancel do to a very (admittedly stupid but significant) scheduling glitch on his part. We're still getting together on Sunday evening, but I'm bummed about it. It's been a long time since I really had any romance in my life and, well, I was giddy with excitement.
I at least took comfort in the fact that I had a 90 minute massage appointment for this evening. My massage therapist has tested my patience. Earlier this year, I came close to "firing" her b/c she had a habit of cancelling on me, but decided to give it one more chance because she's (a) very good and (b) is one of the few people in town who does Thai massage, which I love. She was pretty reliable for a while, but she's now really blown it. First, she cancelled on me last Thursday (one day before my big RAIN ride), claiming the stomach flu. Then, she sent me an email this am confirming our appointment, only to send me an email several hours later saying that she'd been diagnosed with walking pneumonia on Tuesday and was still too weak to work on me.
What? For one thing, if she is truly sick, then I wouldn't have wanted her to work on me, but she should have told me that earlier in the week. For another, uh, like I believe her in the first place. She's either the sickest person I know or totally full of you know what. I'm going with the latter.
So, in the course of 24 hours, my weekend plans have gone more than a little awry. If it rains this weekend and I can't ride, I may go postal.
Thank you for listening.
P.S. I realize these are minor problems; I just needed to vent.

Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
