Here I sit at work in my bike jersey. The proposed work shirt sitting under my desk with a huge pesto stain. Apparently the lid to my lunch was not down tight
I really need to start bringing my lunch in a seperate bag. LOL whats a girl to do?

Mishaps seemed to happen...do you have room to store a very generic shirt or an outfit at your desk? I am lucky that I have a place to store my clothes (at least at the present moment). Previously, I found that on occassion, I would forget underclothes or something of that nature. I learned to hide a spare set of everything in case of situations like this...
What a horrible waste of pesto!!!!
What are you to do?? Get a better lunch container, for starters.
And..yeah...a lunch bag for the lunch would be okay too...
And cold water if you try to wash out the stain...

May I suggest this lunch bag?
And this packing cube to keep your clothes away from the lunch bag?
I'm an organizing fool on my bike commute!
The stain is huge and the pesto has a lot of olive oil/ I mean the shirt has a lot of olive oil - its going to be the Spray and Wash and long pre-soak for that shirt.
I do have a drawer that has some stuff in it. I just haven't done a shirt. I have a problem with having one at work as a just in case, but after today, I think I will just go out and find one that I can leave at work.
I double bag all foods that can leak. so they are usually in some sort of tupperware thing which is then encased in a plastic bag with a tie.
that all goes into a lunch box which isn't as nice as the one diving biker suggested, but keeps things clean, anyway
coyote, try using dishwasher detergent when you use the Spray & Wash too. It may help with getting the oil out.

I can't tell you how many times I went to the Gap Outlet around the corner from where I worked because I had forgotten my clothes. Never had the pesto problem, but lots of forgetting things (like undies!)
I have purchased many "for today only" bras from the Walmart -- it was that or attempt to dry out my sport bra on the hair dryer after a morning gym workout! Walmart is open long before most other places and close to my gym.
As for the stain: at the restaurant I worked at in college, they always told me to use soda water first with an oil stain. I have no idea if it's true. But it cannot hurt!
I second keeping spare shirts at the office -- I do this just because of my line of work -- spare EVERYTHING! But, we also have a washing machine on the premises.

I leave a complete set of clothes, including shoes, at work just in case something happens. All too often I'll drop my bra in the shower, or I'll have forgotten underwear, or (as with yesterday) my shirt will have a stain on it from my lunch leaking. It's well worth it if you have the space!
hee-hee, the ups and downs of bike commutingI have 3 or 4 pants/skirts/tops SS/LS, usually 2 sets of underwear and 2 pairs of shoes at work. I have a small gym-type locker (except it doesn't lock) with a huge bag of clothes squeezed into it. The benefit of showering every day once I get to work, and changing out of my work clothes before I head home, is that those work clothes last a long time before they need washing. Don't get very dirty after I've sat 6 hours quietly behind my desk in them. But the downside is that when I DO need to take something home, I may forget the next day that I no longer have a full outfit at work and yes, I've done that mad dash across the street to buy undies or a pair of tights many times

Finally stashed a set of underwear, a pair of socks and a belt that I don't like much at the bottom of that bag, so that I always have a back-up.
