    Yay for DH

    or D-whatever

I'm doing a sprint tri tomorrow. We went down to get my race pick-up stuff tonight. Keep in mind I've only done two and those were last year so it's not like my brain is all there.

After we picked up my packet (it was at the venue), we walked down to the water. I was looking for markers but saw none. DH wanted to walk along the water. When I asked why, he said he wanted to know if it was a beach start or a pier start and he wanted to see. I never thought of that.

Then we walked back toward packet pick-up and saw the transition area. He wanted to know how the spots were assigned so I asked.

It's not like this is a regular thing but for all the people who support people who do events, that is just so awesome. Part of me thinks it must be boring to wake up early, go with us, take pictures, and otherwise support us in what we do. That includes doing housework because we're out training.

Right now he's out cleaning my bike and making sure I have everything I need. I'm just packing the tri bag.

Anyway, I think it'll be fun tomorrow. The water is relatively warm, the race is small, and the swim is only 400M.

Jes, good luck tomorrow!!! RnR, am so sorry...and for everyone else racing (esp you, Wahine!!!) have FUN!!

Teigyr: Yeah, they sure try to do everything they know how, huh? This will be my DH's first. I think he's going to run errands while I bike and run (mine's a bit longer --- total should be around 2:20 to 2:30 if all goes well!). But he will stay and watch the swim and take pics, and be there at the end. He doesn't want me to deal with parking, so is dropping me at the transition/registration area. NICE!

Anyway -- good luck on yours! Can't wait to hear how we all come out.

Yay Teigyr! I'm glad he's taken an interest in the inner workings of it all. I half expected to read at the end of the post that he signed up right then and there.
Have a fun race today! I'll be rooting you along the whole way!!!!
