New Helmet Design

Looks like something else inside the helmet to do somethin'.

Wonder how many cycling-related accidents result in spinal injuries. It was rather interesting to read the reader's comments..some who needed abit of convincing to wear a helmet ..even after an incident.

When I worked for a rehabilitation hospital for several years for spinal cord injured adults, there was a patient there, Jocyelyn Lovell, a Canadian Commonwealth silver medallist cyclist that became a paraplegic after he was hit by a truck on his bike. Not sure if he wore a helmet or if any helmet would have made much difference to his permanent injury.

On a non-related cycling thing, there was a recent Canadian documentary on skateboarding and significant head/neurological injuries. I didn't see it but saw commercial snips....it looked like it would have been shocker, based on the extent of serious permanent paralysis ...to get people to skateboard more safely..
