Run, jog, leap, bound, prance - week of June 23

I ran on the treadmill today. I've never done that before. I was suppose to be doing intervals today and I had fun messing around with how fast I could go. I did 30 seconds of 8mph. Quickly followed by a minute of 5.3 mph.

I ended up with 48 minutes and 4.5 miles.

2.9 miles running in 35 minutes, and then a 5 minute cool down. Total: 3.2miles on the treadmill.

I might have done some hill work (walking fast) if my ipod hadn't died. I'm nothing without my music.

So far today I've walked to the car, in the park, and to the car, and to the house. WHEW, what a workout!

I'm looking forward to testing the muscles later this week with some light jogging

Colby, I think that is totally allowed considering your weekend activities. I'd probably still be laying in coma on my couch.

Yeah for new shoes and YELLOW!!

I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK YELLOW. ARE YOU GOING TO JOIN ME IN POCATELLO FOR THE HALF AUG 30??

I bought new shoes for myself and daughter today and we are going to get up and run at 0530 . We are 9 weeks from our half mary. My longest run has been 8.25 last Friday. I downloaded a whole lot of oldies and some new stuff on the ipod so I am ready. How come it so hard to get the mojo going again?? I have been getting short runs in but have not been in the training mode but I MUST GET IT GOING!

Maybe a little Springsteen, Mellencamp, Mary J and ZZ Top will help??? I'll report tomorrow a let you know.

Nice job on all your runs ladies! You inspire me!

No running for me until later this week. It's a light rest week so I'm only doing 2x 3-mile maintenance runs before going back into Half Marathon training. I may do a 5K race on Thursday, I won't push it too hard though because I have quite a bit of soreness/stiffness in my left glute muscle from the race on Sunday. Hopefully it'll be gone by Thursday.
