Cycling capris, pockets - such joy

It took a little while for them to get here, but they're worth the wait. Just arrived; my cycling capris from Portland Cyclewear. No more wandering around at work looking like a split personality dressed me. Spare shirt top with PI cyling capris. Or hauling jeans back and forth.

Here are pants, that look like pants and are great or riding.

The fabric feels light, almost crepe-like, and there are pockets pockets pockets pockets. Deep stretchy pockets on the back, two cell phone pockets on the thigh with velcro closures, side pockets are zippered.

I can now .... drum roll .... bike to work and go out to lunch without having to carry my pack. I can keep the change because there's somewhere to put change (I'll still tip my barrista)

Plenty of room in the thigh. I'm cross legged now, here's plenty of room for movement.

Waist band is elasticized at the rear just a little, and it's high enough so there is no plumber's crack.

Chamois as advertised no "diaper look", feels like just enough for my ride. Stay tuned for the road review.

Get them while they are still on sale

Thank you for the review! I definitely need a pair of those now! I will be shopping this week-end, but I'll need to check with Duck first how much luggage space I can steal.....

Don't do like I did after wearing my knicks......so unaccustomed as I was to having my cell phone in a pants pocket, yes, I forgot to remove it during the laundry!

But my lil Samsung cell is a trooper, even after a full spin cycle (hey I said spin AND cycle! ) it still worked!!

But I didn't review the socks Thanks Susan and TE for carrying them.

Best thing about the capris is the leg grippers. Every mother's son of the baggy shorts I've worn to date as shorts with pockets have grippers that are way too tight. I end up removing the chamois/netting because I just can't deal with it.

These are just tight enough to not ride up.

Anybody know where to find unpadded knickers for men??

One of the shop guys has some that look good - I think the tag says Enduro (but I can't find anything except ski pants). Might be spelled wrong - I couldn't get that close a look. They appear to be cycling friendly, and not padded (which would work well for DH since he rides to work and doesn't change clothes - I wouldn't want to wear a chamois all day).

We might try these too (but for riding only).

The chamois on this is really slight. It does not look like you're wearing bike shorts

    Thanks for the reviews!

My new commute involves a 10 minute ride to the train station, then a quick ride from the train station to work, so I was looking for something that would be comfortable on the bike but still look "normal" enough for the time spent on the train (and as I walk into the office). I saw these reviews and decided to buy a pair of the capris, which are thankfully still on sale! Once mine arrive, I'll be happy to add my review.

They now have a new model, the ones on sale are last year.

The new ones are slightly higher waist although last years model had no plumbers crack, I do like that they've gone from a velcro strap at the calf to zipper. I think that will be a cleaner look, better line.

But I like the ones I have!

I ordered the new ones just because they have the zipper not the velcro. Velcro, though wonderful stuff, has done some damage to my biking gear when I forget to close it while washing my bike stuff. I ordered them a couple of weeks ago but they haven't come in yet.

I just bought a pair of these. They are fantastic. My only complaint is that my knees are not covered. This will not be a problem as the weather warms, but they are definitely not as cosy as my Ibex (or Terry) knickers for winter time. On the other hand, the pockets, the fit, fantastic, comfy great!! they look nice too.
