    6 Tips for Rain Riding

Some good, encouraging tips from Unholy Roleur, who is Washington, DC's version of Bike Snob NYC: 6 Tips for Rain Riding. Most of it is pretty much common sense. But some of it is stuff a lot of riders (like me) might not think about, such as water in the rims after riding through deep puddles.

Dunno why, but since I bought a new bike a couple of years ago, I've become a weenie about riding in the rain. This was a good reminder that I need to HTFU
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.

Someone once told me to store your bike upside down after a wet ride to let water drain out of the seat tube and keep the bottom bracket from rusting. Of course that's just for steel.

I can't get that link to open here today (dial-up + rainy weekend = sllllooooow connection)

But something you should always do after a rainy ride is wipe down your bike and squirt a tad of CRC onto the chain/gears

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Those were great (and comically written which entertained me whilst reading). I just wish he had tips for riding in the insane wind- that's what I need help with.

Good Lord, me too....if you find one, let me know.

I also want one that's STFU. I would say that all the time if I could get away with it!
