    My bike ...

Is this the right forum for bike pr0n?

Just wanted to share pics of my Ellsworth Truth, which I bought late last summer, but haven't had much chance to ride yet. This summer, though, this summer will be epic =)

Apparently, in addition to the advertised colors, they frequently have "special" runs of colors. This frame was their second to last in gold anodized. I took a chance, trusting the guy at the store that it would be beautiful rather than gaudy. I chose red for the CK headset and hubs, as well as the nipples. I call her my "superhero bike." I allowed myself to be upsold to the X-0 rear derailleur because it had some gold coloration, too ...

The handlebars were actually chosen to to give me a more upright position, but yes, they are gold, too. Unfortunately the shade doesn't *exactly* match the bike, but still looks pretty sweet.

You can't tell from the pics, but the shifters are SRAM. That's because the Shimano shifters come as a unit with the brake levers, and no matter how I adjusted them on the handlebars, I always had to reach for either the brakes or the shifters. No good. The SRAM shifters + Avid brake levers allow me to independently position each, so that my hands are comfy.

The grips are also ergo; I have wrist issues. In fact, getting a good fit that would relieve pressure and strain to my wrists and hands was a primary motivator in getting a new bike. These grips have a little platform that prevents me from dropping my wrists when I get tired. I now swear by them.

As I told a guy who complimented the bike last week, "I aspire to be as good as this bike."

    Thanks, guys!

Now I just need to get out there and ride -- my schedule and the weather are not meshing perfectly this week =/

It's interesting how many of you guys have used the Ergon grips. I never even heard of them until building up this bike; it feels like one of those things more people should be hearing about and using (just like my beloved M647 pedals).
