    quill stem extenders

just wondering if anyone has had any luck with these. they look like they would shoot your stem up quite a bit.

I recently added one to my frankenbike and it works very well. Maybe on some other bike it would be more adjustable for length, but on mine it wasn't. It fit pretty exactly into the head tube for length, and the stem fit into it exactly the minimum amount required for safety.

It adds about 4 inches to the bar height, which meant I could fold back the adjustable part of my Kalloy adjustable stem, thus bringing the bar closer to me and compensating for the ridiculously long top tube.

If you need 4 inches of extra bar height and are already maxed out in what a stem can give you, that's the way to go.

I bought mine from Yellow Jersey for $20 + $6 shipping.
