Keys dangerous on the ride?

I just ordered a wallet to carry all the essentials while biking: cash, credit card, ID, keys, etc....

Is it dangerous to ride with your keys in the back pockets? Has anyone ever had a mishap/accident in which your keys jabbed/stabbed/injured you?

Nope.
I only take the keys necessary for me to get in my house and place them in a ziplock back along with my cell phone and some spare cash. The ziplock bag then goes into my jersey pocket and off I go. I have never had an issue with it.

I do take only my house key and fit it in my jimi-style wallet most of the time, along with credit card, transit pass (you never know), and a little cash. I wouldn't carry a bit set of key.

I have a hard-time imagining a bike accident where I'd land on my back, but when I have only my key (I carry ID around my neck, always), then I put it in one of the side pockets of my jersey, not the middle one...

I put my car key (I ride from the office and back), cell phone, inhaler, spare insurance card in my bento box. Office ID goes either there, or in my back pocket, so I can reach back and pull it out to show the gate guard when I come back.

Since one of my shoulders is still moderately tight, I don't use my back pocket very much for anything I might want to actually grab while riding. And I don't want anything non-breathable back there - I sweat like a stuck pig.

Only injury I have sustained from my keys is when I forget they are sitting loose in my back pocket and I sit in a chair or lean against a door before I get changed.

I do have my keys wrapped in a plastic bag with my money card and swipe card, so they are a little bit "insulated" I suppose...

I insulate my key just because I keep it in the same ziploc bag as my credit card, insurance card and ID. A key would definitely tear those up, just riding. I took a piece of closed-cell foam packing material (not EPS, the slightly more flexible stuff, I don't know what it's called) about 1 cm thick, cut it into a rectangle about 1 cm longer and 1 cm wider than the key, then put a slit in the center to hold the key.

That's my house key. Depending on where I'm riding from, I carry only a house key or a car key, not both. My car key is an RFID key - that, I have wrapped tightly in plastic cling wrap (one of the few things I use that stuff for!) so I don't corrode the electronics with sweat when I put it in my running shorts pocket, or if my cycling ziploc bag isn't completely watertight.

has my keys, etc. I actually need to have my full set of keys..rather than fragment and try to remember to put together access to different parts of my life.
