    Tom Boonen's "oops"

    in the Scheldeprijs on cycling.tv on Wednesday, Boonen was sprinting for the line and, as is his custom, he started to sit up and raise his arms in victory only to have Mark Cavendish sneak across the line for the win.

    oh so embarassing. Couldn't he have atleast launched his bike across the finish line before rasing his hand.

    even the pros make mistakes but this is so ... hmm ... so embarassing

    he's not the first pro to make this mistake and I'm sure he won't be the last. he could, however, have been fined for raising his hands from the bar in the bunch. it's only "legal" to do that if you have a gap on the pack.

    Some guy just did that at a collegiate race I watched a few weeks ago....big oops.
